Shi Qi Ng  |  Global Cerah Creative Director

Please introduce yourself.

I specialize in marketing strategy, brand positioning, and customer engagement. I lead Global Cerah’s go-to-market approach, farmer outreach, and international visibility—building the bridge between technology adoption and market growth.

What led you to start working with Willie and join Global Cerah?

Willie and I launched a small social community project at first. We recognized the agricultural waste disposal problem, so we tried to operate a pilot project for 2 or 3 months. During the project, we wondered how we could make changes for more people, and that was the beginning of Global Cerah.

Have there been memorable moments while working at Global Cerah?

I was an architect. Drawing from my background as an architect, I approach problems with an analytical and multifaceted lens. Global Cerah has allowed me to broaden my horizons, evolving from immediate business needs to a long-term, holistic perspective. Cross-industry collaboration has significantly sharpened my critical thinking skills.

Of course, we spent a lot of time when we expanded our partnership with our business stakeholders, but at the same time, we could find our unique communication style. As Global Cerah communicates with farmers. Engaging with farmers is very different from conventional business communication. Farmers usually care more about livelihood concerns like ‘How do I live today?’ and ‘What do I eat today?’.  We prioritize engaging with the Ketua Kampung (Community leader) to establish trust. In a multi-linguistic and culturally diverse nation like Malaysia, patient and culturally-nuanced communication is vital. We focus on demonstrating how our presence brings tangible benefits to their livelihood. As Global Cerah focuses on B2B business, it is also important to consider FDA and sanitary certification when communicating with manufacturers and potential stakeholders.

How would you describe Willie’s strategic approach to spreading Global Cerah’s values?

Willie always has an open mind to communicate with external stakeholders and introduce Global Cerah. He always seeks ways to collaborate with corporations overseas.

Willie has interacted with other fellows from ASEAN countries through the Asia Beautiful Fellow Program. Through this global partnership network, we are convinced of the limitless scaling potential for Global Cerah. Now, Global Cerah has cooperated with farmers’ unions and cooperatives from the Philippines, Indonesia, and Taiwan, also supported by foundations and international organizations around the globe.

I can feel that Global Cerah is making a global footprint expanding business partners. When Willie uploads posts on LinkedIn after international meetings or workshops, we can see the feedback from the whole world. With this network, Global Cerah will spread its impact to the international stage and empower its own business competitiveness.

What does the future of Global Cerah look like to you?

Global Carah makes a global impact on the social and environmental sector. Global Cerah aims to lead many changes beyond Southeast Asia. Climate change and soil degradation are fundamental problems regardless of the nation. Global Cerah is almost transitioning beyond the startup phase. We are gradually reinforcing our business competitiveness. Global Cerah and Willie are going to create an experience to link with more networks through presentation and partnership.
