Since 2011, Beautiful Store has been supporting domestic social innovative leaders through the 'Beautiful Fellow' project, confirming that individuals with a strong commitment to change are at the forefront of solving social issues. To expand this positive change, starting in 2022, we extended our selection and support of social innovative leaders to the Asian region and began selecting Asia Beautiful Fellows who are addressing various environmental issues in response to the climate crisis.
This year, we selected a total of three social innovative leaders from Malaysia, Vietnam, and Nepal as the 2nd of Asia Beautiful Fellows. On Tuesday, September 12th, the online agreement ceremony for the 2nd of Asia Beautiful Fellows was held. From self-introductions to business presentations, questions for each other, and making impact sentences using impact verbs—every moment of the online agreement ceremony was filled with excitement and anticipation.
The ceremony commenced with a welcome message from Yoonkeong Jang, the CEO of Beautiful Store. He congratulated and expressed his expectations for the 2nd Asia Beautiful Fellows, emphasizing that just as social innovative leaders in Korea, including Beautiful Fellows, are passionately striving to create change for solving social problems, supporting innovative leaders in developing countries for solving their own societal issues can lead to sustainable development.
Various programs were prepared to facilitate introductions and networking in a relaxed atmosphere.
First, fellows introduced themselves through "Two Truths and a Lie" and keywords instead of the usual formal self-introduction. ๐๐คฉ๐ฎ๐ผ
Vietnam's fellow, Loan, introduced herself with keywords such as 'coffee tree,' as she supports coffee farmers, 'scooter' since she has been traveling to various business sites since the early days of her business, and 'yellow Aozai,' a precious item bringing her luck.

After the business introductions, fellows had a session where they could ask each other questions and gain insights. They discussed various topics, such as how they contribute as Asia Beautiful Fellows, the concerns of family and friends when starting their businesses, and how they balance value creation and sustainable income in their business.
Lastly, fellows defined their goals and actions for the future, using impact verbs, to wrap up the ceremony. Since the agreement ceremony was conducted online, instead of the traditional signing ceremony, they shared their goals, supported each other, and concluded the ceremony.
Willie, using the impact verb "develop," envisions himself as “I am a fellow who develops sustainable waste solutions for local farmers and the environment.
Loan, using the impact verb "collaborate," describes herself as “I am a fellow who collaborates with farmers to promote sustainability and green solutions.”
Rajan, employing the verbs "transform," "reduce," and "connect," defines himself as “I am a fellow who transforms the mindset of the local community, reduces environmental impact, and connects diverse groups of people through our initiatives. This is the vision for the future as we conclude the agreement ceremony.
The agreement for the 2nd of Asia Beautiful Fellows will run from September 2023 for two years. At the end of the year, there will be a networking event where they can connect with the 1st of Asia Beautiful Fellows.
The Beautiful Store Foundation will be by the side of fellows who create sustainable and beautiful changes in our society, and we support the bright future of the 2nd of Asia Beautiful Fellows as they grow and understand each other's tomorrows.
Congratulations and welcome once again to the 2nd of Asia Beautiful Fellows!
